Policies

How this publication is run, corrected, funded and kept independent.

Informational only

Everything published here is general information about the Australian mining sector. It is not investment advice, financial product advice, a recommendation, a valuation, or an invitation to invest in any security, fund or business. No content takes account of any reader's objectives, financial situation or needs. Readers should obtain their own licensed advice before making any financial decision.

Editorial policy

We report on what the public record shows: filings, registers, approvals, court and regulator documents, and material companies publish themselves. Coverage is written in our own words. We do not republish press-release copy and we do not use promotional language on a company's behalf.

Automated monitoring of permitted feeds surfaces candidate items. Candidates enter a pending queue and are published only after a person checks them. Nothing publishes automatically.

Derived figures — discounts, dilution, runway — are labelled as our estimates, with the method stated, and are never presented as company guidance. Where a claim cannot be corroborated we say so or leave it out. First-hand recollections are treated as leads and require permission, corroboration and factual checking before publication.

Corrections policy

Anyone can request a correction through the submit page. We check the request against the primary document.

Material errors are corrected and the correction is noted on the affected item with the date and what changed. Minor typographic fixes are made silently. Items that turn out to be unsupportable are withdrawn with a note explaining why, rather than quietly deleted.

Ownership and transparency

Invest in Mining is an independently owned Australian publication. It is not owned or controlled by a mining company, broker, promoter, investor relations firm or listed issuer, and no such party holds an interest in it or a right of approval over content.

Revenue sources are disclosed in general terms. Any holding, payment, commercial relationship or other conflict relevant to a piece of coverage is disclosed near that coverage, not buried in a policy page.

Sponsorship and paid placement

Paid placements are clearly labelled as such wherever they appear. Paid placement never buys editorial coverage, a favourable framing, removal of unfavourable coverage, advance sight of an article, or influence over what we choose to cover.

Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship. Advertisers and sponsors receive no ability to approve, review or veto content.

Privacy and data use

We collect the minimum needed to run the publication. Contact details supplied with a submission are used only to follow up on that submission.

We do not buy, rent or scrape mailing lists. Marketing email is sent only to people who have given express consent, and every marketing message carries a working unsubscribe link that is actioned promptly.

Data published in the register is drawn from public filings and disclosed records. You can ask what we hold about you and request correction or deletion of personal information through the submit page.
